The American Lottery is not a powerball game. It is the act of sending loved ones — especially our children — to schools, grocery stores and movie theaters. Because in those places they may be grievously wounded or killed by persons who legally possess assault weapons.
In 2022 there were 648 mass shootings in America. 303 were on the grounds of a K-12 school.
This is a lottery we can put out of business.
It is long past time to ban assault weapons. If reaching that goal means we must enlarge the Supreme Court, do it. If it requires amending the Constitution, do it. If it requires demanding that every Democrat running for office sign a pledge to support banning assault rifles, do it.
